Our Story: A Family Business
Layla is owned and operated by the Tadros family, established in August 2010. Previous to Layla Mediterranean Grill and Mezze, the family owned and operated Confetti’s Restaurant in the same location for over 16 years, being in the restaurant business for over 30 successful years. Raouf and Leila (mom and dad) are from Egypt and Lebanon, with three children Liz, Tony, and Tania. With restaurant business in the family’s’ blood, the Tadros family discovered that running a restaurant is truly an undefined journey. When driven by compliments that were received from numerous acquaintances about Mom and Dad’s cooking, talk began about revamping the restaurant to introduce a new image, which has not been successfully introduced in Salt Lake City before. They were so dedicated to this dream that they retired their full time jobs to join the family business. When opening day came, they defined their journey, and then Layla was born.
Our goal is to introduce our already local customers to more traditional home cooking Middle Eastern cuisine while still offering the favorites from the previous establishment, Confetti’s. A tradition that holds dear in our hearts, that of great hospitality, lively atmosphere and extraordinary food, our customers have made us what we are today – a one of a kind family restaurant.
Our life has been dedicated to providing our clientele with the best food, and endearing & humble service, and familiar faces you can only find in a family business.
